LEICESTER forward Paul Gallagher says he is ready to face the Burnley boo-boys head on, because he’s been through it all before.

The former Blackburn Rovers striker is keen to reignite the Foxes’ top six push at the expense of Eddie Howe’s fellow challengers when the two out of form teams go head-to-head at the Walkers Stadium tomorrow.

“I’ll probably get a bit of stick from the Burnley fans,” he said.

“I remember when I was on loan at Stoke (in March 2006) I scored against Burnley in a 1-0 win.

“On my way home on the M6 I was getting abuse from the Burnley fans who recognised my number plate. That’s football.

“Apparently there was a big roar at Blackburn when it was announced I had scored the winner against Burnley. My father-in-law told me about that.

“The rivalry is very strong, so I’m expecting some stick.

“It spurs you on so the more stick I get probably the better I will play.”

But Gallagher is more concerned with the bigger picture for Leicester.

Like Burnley, their play-off chances have suffered for a recent dip in form.

Leicester have only one win from their last seven games, while the Clarets have failed to win in four attempts and have taken only one point from a possible 12.

Defeat for either side would all but rule them out of the race, but Gallagher said: “You can never say never. It depends on the other results.

“All we can do is concentrate on our game.

“We are going to go out and try to win the game.”
