Lancashire squash star Laura Massaro says it is a crying shame that the sport will not get a chance to showcase itself at next year’s London Olympics.
But she insists that everyone involved in the sport will carry on fighting to get the sport included one day.
“We’ve tried numerous times to get in,” said Massaro, who lives in Hoghton and plays North West Counties League squash for East Lancs.
“All of the racquet sports are in. Tennis, badminton and table tennis.
“But we’ve lost out for 2016 to rugby sevens and golf. It’s tough.
“We’ll carry on trying and hopefully get in one day.”
