CONCERNED Blackburn Rovers fans are bidding to ensure their voice is heard around Ewood Park after proposing to set up a supporter’s trust.

A small group of Rovers fans have decided they need an official and recognised organisation to represent their interests and improve supporter involvement and communication with the club at board level.

A supporter’s trust is a democratic, non-profit organisation of supporters, committed to strengthening the voice for supporters in the decision making process at the club, and growing the links between the club and the community it serves.

The trust runs independently to the football club.

A spokesperson said: “By introducing a supporter’s trust at Rovers, we are hopeful we can ensure our concerns and ideas are heard at the highest level. After all it’s our club.

“In recent months, we have seen a great many changes at the club.

"With our top flight status in jeopardy, many supporters are rightly concerned about our long-term future.

“In today’s money-orientated world of football, supporters, the lifeblood of the club, all across the country ae feeling the effects of club owners who are out of touch, who’s motives are unclear, and who don’t necessarily have the club’s best interests at heart.

“Many clubs in crisis have turned to their supporters to keep them alive.

"Other groups actively lobby the club for the benefit of the supporters.”
