THE Lancashire Telegraph is today calling on every Blackburn Rovers fan to get behind their club and roar them to Premier League survival.

Results in the final five home games – starting with Blackpool on Saturday – will go a long way in deciding Rovers’ Premier League future.

And we want supporters to play their part.

We want Ewood Park packed to the rafters with fans proud to wear their colours.

We want a united front: Everyone pulling together to ensure Rovers’ 10-year stay in the top-flight continues.

Twelve years ago, Rovers were relegated under Brian Kidd.

A repeat is unthinkable – but it's a realistic possibility with Steve Kean’s side hovering just one point above the relegation zone.

The club has gone through unprecedented turbulence during the last four months.

The Jack Walker era officially ended. So did manager Sam Allardyce’s reign. And respected chairman John Williams also headed for the exit.

Steve Kean’s side has claimed just four points from the last 21 available, spiralling Rovers towards the trapdoor.

It’s been a painful and confusing period for many fans.

Some fear the the club will pay the ultimate price for the ferocity of change during the past few months.

But now is not the time for accusations against the new owners. Or anger. That inquest can be held at the end of the season.

Now is the time for the club to unite. For fans to get behind their players and manager.

To bang the drum – literally – and vocally raise the roof. To make Ewood Park a sea of blue and white.

Blackpool are the next visitors on Saturday and you can guarantee a packed out, colourful and vocal away end with 5000 Tangerines expected for their first trip to Ewood since 1980.

They would be no match for an Ewood Park in full voice.

Remember the title triumph, the Worthington Cup win, the countless European campaigns.

This is the proud history we are all fighting to preserve.

In recent seasons, when called upon, Ewood Park has more than delivered. ‘Fortress Ewood’ has been impregnable at times and never has it been more important to recreate that atmosphere.

Every fan can make a difference.

Blackburn is a town that deserves a Premier League club.

It's not too late to make sure that continues.

Your club needs you.
