A NUMBER of key issues are set to be discussed by senior figures at Accrington Stanley this weekend after a board meeting was provisionally arranged to take place in London tomorrow.
Top of the agenda is expected to be Stanley’s ownership struggle, which rumbles on to the frustration of supporters, and the club’s current financial predicament.
Stanley say they are up to date with their tax commitments but have confirmed that they expect to fall short of meeting some of this month’s bill to HM Revenue and Customs, normally in the region of around £30,000 and due this weekend.
The Reds have been short of revenue recently after a number of postponed matches but are confident of being able to pay this month’s tax bill in full after Tuesday’s scheduled home fixture against Crewe, with pitch contractors currently working to improve the playing surface in time for the game.
The board meeting is due to take place in London, where key figures Ilyas Khan and Peter Marsden are based, with Stanley away at Wycombe tomorrow.
Peter Shaw, chairman of the Accrington Stanley Supporters' Fund, is also expected to formally join the board at the meeting.
