STEVE Kean fears Blackburn Rovers are growing increasingly unlikely to sign Brazilian ace Ronaldinho.

The Blackburn Rovers boss said the AC Milan was one of a number of players he was looking to bring to the club, but believes the lure of returning to Brazil could prove too big to resist.

He also admitted the club were attempting to sign David Beckham on a loan deal as the new owners looked to make their statement of intent.

He said: "There has been contact from the owners to the people working with Ronaldinho. I don't know how far down the line it is.

"You have to see it as a positive that we are speaking to someone who was two times world player of the year.

"Day by day it is looking further away rather than closer but I hope by QPR we will have held a press conference to announce we have some more bodies in.

"We are trying to show a bit of intent by looking at two players like David Beckham and Ronaldinho. It shows we are serious of getting players of that ilk."

Kean declined to comment on Mrs Desai's statement that former Rover Damien Duff was also a target.
