DALE produced one of their best displays of the season to leap-frog Lymm in to third place in National League Three North.

The Cheshire side came to Marl Pits riding high and bang in form and it showed as they raced to a 13-0.

But Dale played with great maturity to turn around a 16-7 half time deficit, showed calmness while holding on to a 24-23 lead then ruthlessness to score a decisive match-winning try.

“This was a fantastic win for us and proved that we can match any team in the league,” said player/coach James Bramhall.

“We showed great heart to get back into the game after falling behind and we showed great maturity when we took the lead.

“The forwards produced another strong perform-ance and the backs are now starting to play with confid-ence and score tries.

“As a team were slowly starting to play alot smarter and with more composure in all areas of the field.

“However, we know we have to keep on improving and working hard to stay at the top end of the table.”

After Lymm got off to a flyer, Dale got themselves back in to game thanks to a fine counter attack try for Roger Dennison with Bramhall adding the extras.

Lymm hit back with a penalty to lead 16-7 at the break.

But two tries for giant second row Paddy Pole, both converted by Bram-hall, put Dale 21-16 up which Bramhall extended with a penalty.

But Lymm again showed why they are so dangerous with a try out of nothing to cut the gap to a point before Alistair Harper raced on to a popped pass from Bramhall to score a late try and clinch a big win for Dale.
