DANIEL Nutter finally got his hands on golf’s Harold Ryden Trophy last night and admitted: “It’s not sunk in yet!”

The 33-year-old – a three-time runner-up in the prestigious ELGA event – put all past disappointments behind him with a 2&1 final victory over youngster Louis Laviscount at Wilpshire Golf Club.

It proved a sweet moment for the Clitheroe member after losing the final in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

“I’ve worked ever so hard over the last 10 or 15 years to win this,” said Nutter.

“There was a bit of pressure to win it after reaching the final three times, but I’ve finally got my reward.

“It’s just unbelievable to finally win the Harold Ryden trophy. It’s not really sunk in yet.”

In an exciting final, Nutter came back from two down after four holes as Wilpshire golfer Laviscount, on home territory, made a flying start.

Nutter, from Barrowford, went two up at the 16th before closing out the final at the next hole.
