ACCRINGTON Stanley could be set to avoid a tribunal for Bobby Grant after confirming that they are close to agreeing a fee with Scunthorpe for the striker – with reports in Lincolnshire suggesting it could rise as high as £260,000.
Grant agreed to join Scunthorpe after allowing his contract to expire at Stanley, although the Reds are entitled to a fee because he is under 23.
Stanley had feared they would have to wait months for a tribunal to set a fee but Scunthorpe have now said they have agreed a six-figure sum, which would rise to £260,000 - although only after a number of add-ons, including a promotion to the Premier League.
Accrington say reports are premature but have confirmed they are close.
