BILLY Kee again came off the bench to give Accrington Stanley all three points as the striker notched a brace in the Reds' final home game of the season against play-off chasing Chesterfield this afternoon.

Kee came on as a substitute to score the only goal of the game against Barnet in midweek and this time he scored twice after being introduced.

The first half produced few clear-cut chances, although both sides felt they should have been awarded a penalty.

Sean McConville appeared to be felled by Ian Breckin as he surged into the Chesterfield area, only for referee Mark Haywood to decide that the Stanley man had dived.

The visitors then had a claim when Wade Small felt Johnny Flynn had handled his flick, but this time the referee insists the ball had struck the defender's head.

Rob Page headed just wide from a set piece for Chesterfield, while Bobby Grant lashed a fierce shot narrowly over the bar.

Chesterfield pushed for a winner in the second half as they bid to secure a play-off place with Small somehow poking Jack Lester's cross just wide and Ian Dunbavin producing a superb save to deny Ishmel Demontagnac's angled effort.

Dunbavin then saved from Drew Talbot before denying Demontagnac again, although Chesterfield keeper Tommy Lee did well to tip over Grant's fine volley.

But Stanley took the lead in the 70th minute as substitutes John Miles and Kee combined – just three minutes after their introduction. Miles' slide-rule pass found Kee, who swept the ball into the corner.

And Kee scored again with two minutes remaining as Chesterfield over-committed for a long throw in Stanley's box and Symes was able to put the striker clear on goal on the counter attack for another neat finish.
