RIBBLESDALE League new boys Salesbury face their biggest test since elevation into the top flight tomorrow as they travel to face unbeaten reigning champions Baxenden.

The Red Caps, who started the season so well with their opening day win over Edenfield, have impressed, and make the trip to Back Lane to tackle Ian Austin’s men, who have won all three games.

There is a boost for James Watson’s men, though, as professional Richard Rostron is expected to recover from a wrist injury in time for the game.

Lancashire quickie Oliver Newby again leads the Read bowling attack as Chris Holt’s outfit aim to extend their impressive start in the match of the day against a hugely impressive Cherry Tree.

Both sides have three wins from three so something has to give in the Preston Old Road clash of teams in joint second spot in the table.

Much fancied Barnoldswick have had a wretched start to the season as their new players gel together and three defeats from three games has seen them slump to the bottom of the table.

And they face another difficult test tomorrow when they head into game at Ribblesdale Wanderers.

Settle entertain Great Harwood at Marshfield with Harwood, champions two years ago, hoping the arrival of professional Rauof Akbar will kick-start their season, which has seen two losses.

Oswaldtwistle Immanuel make the trip to Padiham for a good game, while Peter Dibb takes his fourth-placed Clitheroe side to Edenfield looking to keep up the pressure on Baxenden, Cherry Tree and Read.

Brilliant Lancashire Academy youngster Jack Dewhurst is the leading amateur batsman in the league following his century last weekend and he will look to pile on more runs at Gincroft Lane.

Tomorrow's fixtures: Baxenden v Salesbury, Cherry Tree v Read, Earby v Whalley, Edenfield v Clitheroe, Padiham v Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, Ribblesdale Wanderers v Barnoldswick, Settle v Great Harwood.
