IMPRESSIVE Darwen professional Mohammed Zaman Khan will look make up for the disappointment of missing out on a maiden Northern League ton tomorrow when his side welcome Barrow to Birch Hall.

Khan, who has regularly smashed records in the Central Lancashire League and Bradford League, is a proven class act at league level.

But he is still waiting for his first Darwen century after going so close in the north of Lancashire last weekend.

In-form Darwen started their season with a winning draw against a strong Kendal side before thrashing Carnforth at Lodge Quarry last week with Khan getting out for 97.

But that disasppointment was tempered by the manner of the win as John Cordingley’s men strolled home with 20 overs to spare.

And they will look to follow up that win with another success against a Barrow side making the mammoth trip in miserable form.

Daryl Wearing’s men were expected to make a big challenge this season but have so far not reached anywhere near their expectations.
