RYAN Nelsen insists Blackburn Rovers can complete a memorable Ewood Park clean sweep on Monday as they bid to add Arsenal to their list of impressive home upsets.

Avoiding defeat against Arsene Wenger’s men at Ewood would be the first time Rovers could boast an unbeaten home record against the ‘big four’ since 1993/94 – and Nelsen believes it would be the fitting finale.

As well as hampering Manchester United’s Premier League title bid with a goalless draw earlier this month, Rovers have also enjoyed draws with Chelsea and Liverpool at ‘fortress Ewood’ this season and Nelsen is now desperate to complete the set.

He knows a victory against the Gunners would be a huge boost in their bid for a top 10 finish and is determined to send the Ewood faithful home happy for the summer.

Rovers’ skipper said: “I think the fans have got to say they have got their moneys worth this season. We have provided some good wins and some good results and we really want to end on a high.

“It is a bit of a game to get the fans leaving on good spirits and the lads are desperate to win that game.

“I would not know the last time Blackburn have been unbeaten against that top four at Ewood Park. It would be fantastic to do that this season - even better if we can sign out with a win.

“Arsenal will be trying to get three points and it will be tough but so will we.

"The team will be looking forward to it and maybe a win could spur us on for the last game of the season and our bid to finish the season in 10th.”
