ACCRINGTON Stanley supporters dressed like stewards and performed a conga in a tongue-in-cheek show of support to assistant boss Jimmy Bell.
Bell has been at the centre of a row after he was allegedly manhandled by stewards in a game against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
He was wrestled to the floor when he went to applaud the club’s travelling fans at the end of the 5-1 away defeat.
But on Tuesday night in the club’s home victory over Barnet scores of fans dressed in high-visibility vests and unveiled a banner that read ‘Football is nothing without stewards’.
Bell said: “The fans were magnificent.”
Both Crewe and the FA are holding their own inquiries into the incident.
