BURNLEY have warned Championship leaders Reading: We don't fear you!

Steve Coppell brings his table-topping troops to Turf Moor for Saturday's Championship clash between two teams whose current fortunes are poles apart.

While the Royals march relentlessly towards the Premiership, well on course to set a divisional points record after losing just two of their 36 league games, Steve Cotterill's side have slipped down the table following just one win in 10 matches.

But the Clarets are determined to upset the form book and give supporters a performance to be proud of.

Midfield terrier James O'Connor said: "Reading's form possibly takes the pressure off us, but if you go back to the game at the Madejski Stadium earlier in the season I thought we were a little unlucky to lose the game.

"We felt we held our own and if we can get among them on Saturday we can give them a fright. They are well organised, but they are far from unbeatable and we certainly won't fear them. We'll get stuck into them and hopefully we can get the right result."

With ten games still to play Reading are just eight points shy of Sunderland's record 94-point haul, achieved when they romped to the Championship title last season, pipping Wigan into second place.

After losing at home to Plymouth on the opening day of the season, they suffered their only other league defeat at Luton Town earlier this month.

But with injury doubts over several key players ahead of the Turf Moor clash, Wade Elliott believes Burnley have the experience to inflict more away-day misery on the runaway Royals.

The former Bournemouth winger said:"Everyone knows how well Reading have done this season and in some senses it's a good game for us because all the odds are stacked against us.

"But there's no reason why we shouldn't do well against them. I've played against nearly all of their team when they've been in the division below.

"They've all sort of come up through the leagues and done really well together, but when you look at our squad compared to theirs I think the only player who has played in the Premiership is Glen Little, when he was at Bolton on loan.

"The side we can put out will have six or seven players who have played in the Premiership, so I think we've got the quality to match them on any given day.

"From what I've seen, Reading are athletic and quite well organised and they've obviously got good momentum behind them, but I think we've certainly got the squad to match anybody in the division on our day."
