BLACKBURN Rovers' impressive home record continued with victory over Birmingham.

In a first half with very little action, Blackburn took the lead in the fourth minute.

David Dunn fired his shot into the bottom corner, after good work by Nikola Kalinic.

James McFadden almost grabbed an equaliser minutes later, but his deflected shot was well saved by Jason Brown.

Neither goalkeeper were called into action too much for the rest of the half, with Craig Gardner and Morten Gamst Pedersen having sights of goal but not hitting the target.

The second half started in the same fashion as the first ended, but with their first real chance Birmingham scored, with McFadden's free kick from just outside the box bending round the wall and into the corner.

After being pegged back to level terms Rovers raised their game, and went back ahead in the 67th minute.

El-Hadji Diouf's corner bent towards the near post, and Dunn was on hand to get his second of the game.

The home side looked confident at 2-1, and were looking the more dangerous side going forward. Chris Samba and Junior Hoilett both had half chances to make it 3-1.

The game ebbed away with Rovers comfortably handling the Birmingham attcking threat, and leaving with a 2-1 win and three valuable points.
