DETERMINED keeper Brian Jensen says Burnley must keep believing the only way is up.

The Clarets were condemned to another week in the bottom three ahead of Saturday’s trip to title challenges Arsenal following a 2-1 defeat at home to bottom club Portsmouth.

Jensen almost inspired what would have been a valuable point with a penalty save from Jamie O’Hara at 1-1, before Hassan Yebda clinched it for crisis club Pompey from the spot to leave Burnley with just one win from their last 16 Premier League games.

But, with 11 games to go, the Dane , right, warned his team-mates against thinking they are down and out.

“We’re still down there where we don’t want to be but we can only look up,” said the 34-year-old.

“I think we’ve got a good chance still.

“We still have six home games to go and there’s a lot of points to play for.

“I don’t care how many more we’re going to need just as long as we’ve got enough.

“We take one game at a time.

“It’s Arsenal next and we know it’s going to be tough, but against anybody in this league if you play well on the day anything can happen.

“We know we’re in trouble down there, but we have to turn it around, away from home as well now. It’s a must, so we have to work on that.”

Jensen admitted their enviable team spirit had been put to the test at times this season, but he insisted the Clarets will work together in their fight for survival.

“We have a good relationship altogether,” he said.

“(That spirit) has been tested all season – it’s not just now, it’s all the way through under different circumstances.

“That’s why we have to stick together and get even stronger.

“We can do that, definitely.

“We’ll stay together, and we’re going to do our very best to stay in this league regardless of who we’re playing against.

“We’re going to bounce back and hopefully get even stronger and start getting some points away from home as well.”

But Jensen added they would not lose sight of the value of their home form, after failing to pick up a point at Turf Moor for only the third time this season.

“We have to get back to the good form at home again,” he said.

“We will, I don’t doubt that.

“We just have to keep doing what we’re trying to achieve.”
