SIMON Garner has told Rafa Benitez ‘shut up and get your own house in order’ after accusing the Spaniard of disrespecting Blackburn Rovers’ proud Premier League tradition.

The Liverpool manager mocked Sam Allardyce in the wake of Rovers’ 2-1 defeat at Anfield on Sunday, sarcastically suggesting Barcelona would be copying his style, with Garner branding the accusations a ‘total disgrace’.

Allardyce and Benitez have had a running feud ever since the Spaniard took exception to the manner in which Allardyce’s Bolton inflicted his first defeat in England on him in 2004 - accusing him of being over physical.

Benitez was at it again on Sunday following a bad tempered clash at Anfield but Garner insists it is just sour grapes from a manager who is under pressure after spending money unwisely.

In an extraordinary outburst, Benitez said: “I think he (Sam Allardyce) is a model for all the managers all around the world.

"He is a model, the style of football, his behaviours, everything is perfect for the kids.

“I am sure Barcelona will be thinking about copying this style.”

Garner though, with almost 200 goals and more than 500 Rovers appearances under his belt, has hit back at the Anfield supremo and insisted there is no place for personal attacks like that in the Premier League.

He said: “Who is he to say that?

"I can’t imagine Barcelona are falling over themselves wanting to copy the way Liverpool play at the moment.

"Those comments are completely unnecessary and a complete disgrace.

“If you look at the amount of money Rafa has spent since coming to Liverpool then you would be worried if they weren’t beating Blackburn Rovers.

"The fact is this season they have struggled to beat them in two games, with the home game a draw.

“Perhaps he is having a go at Sam to try and deflect the pressure because they look to be fighting a losing battle for fourth place.

"I don’t really care why he is saying it but there is no room for personal attacks like that.

“Fair enough him and Allardyce have history. But this time, as far as I can gather, Sam just suggested Liverpool have had to become more dogged to grind out games.

"That is a good thing.”

Benitez pointed to the five bookings picked up by Rovers and the 25 fouls committed in a fiery Anfield clash but the stats didn’t tell the whole story as the visitors threatened to pull of a shock win.

Nikola Kalinic, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Steven Nzonzi and Chris Samba were all denied earning Rovers at least a point by man-of-the-match Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, with no nasty tackles put in from either side.

Garner said: “I don’t know if Benitez knows about Blackburn’s history but to be where we are and to have been a Premier League team for so long is something to be very proud about.

"Benitez may be having a go at Sam but he is also having a go at Blackburn Rovers and that isn’t right.

“Would Benitez be able to do as a good job at Rovers as Allardyce is doing with very little finances?

"I don’t know but it would definitely be a wake-up call.

“I don’t even think Blackburn Rovers are over-physical and long-ball merchants under Allardyce.

"It is just an easy stick to beat them with because of Allardyce’s reputation.

“To be honest though, even if they were who cares?

"The Premier League would be a very boring place if every team was the same.

"I am sure Liverpool fans would like a bit more excitement from their team at the moment.”
