LARS Jacobsen insists Blackburn Rovers can’t let the growing pressure get to them as they look to ensure the Premier League relegation zone remains very much below them.
Rovers’ Danish full back will miss tomorrow’s Ewood Park visit of Fulham with a calf injury but has backed his team mates to ease lingering relegation fears over the coming months.
Sam Allardyce’s men currently sit in 13th in the Premier League but, just three points clear of the drop zone, Jacobsen knows there are some nervy times ahead.
He said: “When you look at the table and you see you are so close to the bottom, of course it is something you have to deal with and be aware of.
“But you can’t let the pressure get to you, you have to deal with the situation and get the wins you need to get away from the bottom three.
“Of course we’re not in the bottom three but we certainly don’t want to get down there. “But you can’t let that pressure build up because then it will be even worse when you are playing games.
“Of course you have to be aware of it, but don’t think about it.
“As players do you have to think you're in relegation trouble now?”
