I know there has been talk of a protest against Owen Coyle at the game against Bolton at the Reebok Stadium in two weeks’ time, but I don’t really know what that’s going to achieve.

It’s not great timing that we’re playing them only two games after Owen has left, although maybe it is scripted that that will be our first away win in the Premier League.

I hope, though, that it will be our second away win after we complete the double over Manchester United with victory at Old Trafford this weekend!

It was a shame that the home game against Stoke was postponed because Manchester United away isn’t ideal as the first game back after the shock of Owen leaving.

His departure will be a big loss to the players.

I was surprised that he decided to join Bolton and it was a big disappointment.

He turned down Celtic in the summer and when he did that I thought, ‘Brilliant, he’s here to stay’.

I know the budget was a factor and he is ambitious, but surely he knew all of this at the start of the season?

I thought he should have stayed until the end of the season and then maybe he could have looked at his options then.

I know he spent two years as a player with Bolton, but I think Burnley are a bigger club than Bolton.

Yes, Bolton have been established in the Premier League for six or seven years but if you look over the history of both clubs Burnley are bigger.

But I hear there has been some graffiti on Owen Coyle’s picture up at Turf Moor and that isn’t really going to help.

It was probably the club that had to clean it up.

I know some people won’t, but I do still wish him well in the future. He did a lot for the club.

We’ve got to put it behind us now and look forward to the game at United on Saturday.

It will be difficult for the man who comes in as boss at this stage of the season.

They may have different ideas and may want to change things a bit, but it is very difficult to do that halfway through the season.

It is much easier to do it in pre-season.

But hopefully whoever it is can come in and keep the home form going and maybe get a few points away from home.

Two straight wins will lift you out of trouble, but two defeats will drop you down the table.

The bottom half of the Premier League table is very tight at the moment, so we’re still in with a good chance of staying up.
