ACCRINGTON Stanley recorded a fine win at promotion challengers Rochdale this afternoon in their last game before Wednesday's scheduled High Court hearing.

Stanley must pay off a £308,000 tax bill this week or face winding up proceedings but such matters did not prevent them claiming all three points against their local rivals at Spotland.

The Reds welcomed back Darran Kempson for the game, with injury doubts Chris Turner and John Miles only fit enough for the bench as Sean McConville was given a start on the left wing.

Bobby Grant put John Coleman's side ahead in the 45th minute with a close range header after Michael Symes had nodded the ball across goal.

And it was Symes who made it 2-0 with 20 minutes left, turning to fire a superb dipping volley past former Stanley goalkeeper Kenny Arthur from 30 yards.

Chris Dagnall pulled a goal back for Rochdale with a shot on the turn in the first minute of injury time but the hosts could not find a second goal.
