STEPHEN Jordan hopes Burnley’s promotion winning unit can stick together next summer.

Nine of the Clarets’ 16-man play-off final winning squad are out of contract at the end of this season, including Jordan.

But the 27-year-old hopes securing Premier League survival and their Turf Moor futures will go hand in hand.

“My contract’s up at the end of the year, but I’d love to sign a new one,” said the left back.

“I think a few of us have been told that up to maybe January it won’t be looked at until then.

“But if they want to do anything earlier they can always give me a shout!”

Jordan, who signed on a free transfer in the summer of 2007, added: “It’s flown by since I signed. A lot’s happened that you probably couldn’t have imagined.

“I signed and I was playing, then the new gaffer came in and I was injured when he first arrived and didn’t really get in the team.

“I started last year, and what happened then was unbelievable for everyone connected to the club.”

Burnley’s team spirit was said to have been key to their 61-game 2008/09 season and Jordan believes it is serving them well in the top flight.

“At other teams there’s a lot of cliques and segments of people who stick together, but here everyone just gets on well with everybody,” he said.
