A HOST of former Reds favourites are preparing to represent the Accrington Stanley Legends team in Sunday’s fund-raising friendly against the Stanley Ultras.

The match kicks off at noon and is the last to take place at the Crown Ground before Wednesday’s High Court hearing.

Stanley boss John Coleman and assistant Jimmy Bell are due to come out of retirement, while Jamie Speare, Lutel James, Dean Calcutt, Rory Prendergast, Paul Burns, Mark Shirley, Jay Flannery and Russell Payne are among those who have agreed to play in a bid to raise vital funds for the club.

Jim McCluskie and Mark Brennan are also hoping to be involved.

Coleman said: “It should be a smashing game.

“There are a lot of really good names coming who have served the club well and I know the fans really appreciate them.

“I’m looking forward to it as long as my groin stands up to it.

"As long as we can get the right result, that’s all that matters!”

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £1 for under 16s.
