BLACKBURN Rovers derby day heroes insist they can end their miserable away form tomorrow - claiming winning local pride has boosted their self belief.

Sam Allardyce’s men travel to Chelsea tomorrow evening, with another daunting game at Old Trafford up next in the Premier League, but Rovers’ squad insist they will be travelling with belief.

Rovers’ losing streak on their travels stretches back to March, since winning 2-1 at Fulham, but despite their big task ahead are insistent they can upset the form book.

Morten Gamst Pedersen, who played his part in Sunday’s 3-2 derby win over Burnley, is one relishing the trip to Stamford Bridge and believes a lot of heart can be taken from the weekend’s heroics.

“It was an important win for us because we've got two tough away games with Chelsea and Manchester United,” said Pedersen.

“If we go to Chelsea and do well and it's our day we can get a point or something. We just have to believe, but we still had to celebrate the derby win.

"We can't think too much about not having a point or points away but hopefully they can come now.”

Team mate Brett Emerton had to watch most of the game from the substitutes bench but, as he continues his comeback from a long lay-off, insists everyone has been buoyed by the result.

Emerton said: "Looking at the fixtures coming up it was a must-win game because of the three points and because there's such fierce rivalry between the two clubs as well.

“It gives I guess a little bit of confidence and self belief for Chelsea and hopefully we can go there and come away with something.

"Obviously Burnley got off to a flier but Dunny got us straight back into the game and, to be honest, from then on it only looked like there was going to be one winner.

"I think we controlled the game, created a number of chances and deserved the win.

"Dunny loves this game. He's a local boy and it means a lot to him, and you could see that.

"I'm delighted he played so well and got on the score sheet.”
