CHRIS King’s Accrington Stanley career could be over after a scan diagnosed that his persistent thigh injury will keep him out for at least another month.

The left back has featured only three times this season because of persistent thigh problems and has now been told that he has a torn muscle and will be on the sidelines for some time.

King currently only has a contract until the turn of the year and it is unlikely he will be offered a deal for the rest of the season if he cannot prove his fitness with appearances in the first team before then.

“Chris King has had a scan and it’s a bad tear, so he’s been told to rest for a month,” revealed Stanley assistant manager Jimmy Bell.

“He’s out of contract at Christmas, so at the moment it’s not looking brilliant for him.”

King was a regular in the side last season until another persistent thigh problem ruled him out of the last three months of the campaign, meaning he had to accept a short-term contract that was heavily based on appearance money this season.
