Accrington Stanley signing Luke Joyce is targeting a first full season of first-team football after joining the club on a one-year contract yesterday.
The 22-year-old former Wigan youth team midfielder was released by Carlisle last month after largely being used as a squad player at the League One club, but he is optimistic that a move to Stanley will allow him to flourish.
Joyce said: “I want to get into the first team and play 30 or 40 games, playing two games a week, rather than being in and out of the team, sat on the bench or not even making the bench some weeks.
“It’s a nervous time over the summer finding out where you’ll end up, so I’m chuffed to have signed for Accrington in League Two.”
