A LOAD of Burnley FC t-shirts had to be taken off the shelves after a spelling error was found in the club’s name.
The Claret-coloured, short-sleeved crew neck garments feature a black strip with Burnely FC Since 1882 near the bottom hem.
It went on sale in the Burnley Football Club shop and through the official website, but all stock was removed after just one day.
Tom Mackie, retail manager at the Harry Potts Way store, said only “one or two” of the T-shirts were sold before the mistake was noticed.
Since then, the stock has been sent back to the suppliers to be corrected and he is expecting it to be returned soon.
The T-shirt also features the club’s crest on the chest and a small piece of text on the sleeve.
