CLITHEROE'S Michael Bisping was one of the names put forward as a contender for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
The cage fighter did not make the final 10 nominees, which does include Chorley-based Olympic cyclist Bradley Wiggins, but was put forward as one of the Daily Star newspaper’s 10 choices.
