TRANSFER-LISTED Gabor Kiraly insists he will only leave Burnley on his own terms.

The Hungarian goal-keeper is holding out for the right offer after being told by Clarets boss Owen Coyle earlier this summer that he is free to join a new club.

And the 32-year-old claims he can leave Turf Moor on a free transfer after the Clarets originally wanted a fee for the former Crystal Palace and Aston Villa stopper.

But despite falling down the goalkeeper pecking order at Burnley, behind Diego Penny and Brian Jensen, Kiraly, whose contract runs out next summer, will not move on if the deal is not perfect for him.

“I'm one of the better-paid footballers at the club so if Burnley sell me it’s good for them financially,” he told Hungarian newspaper Vas Nepe.

“There’s a clause in my contract that if I play at least 25 games in the season then my contract will be automatically extended by one year.

“Burnley have asked for money for me so far, but recently they decided that I can leave for free.

“But, as I have one year left on my contract I only want to leave Burnley if I receive the right approach.”

Coyle told Kiraly he was free to leave Burnley after the Hungarian inter-national failed to make an impact in his first full season at Turf Moor.

Signed by former manager Steve Cotterill on a Bosman free transfer last summer, Kiraly went on to make 27 league appearances.

But a series of costly errors during the second half of the campaign was enough for Coyle to look elsewhere, and the Clarets boss made his move by signing Peruvian international Diego Penny.

Kiraly is now third in line behind Penny and Jensen, and has effectively made his last appearance for the club.

Back in August, Coyle said: “I have spoken to Gabor a few times and I have said that if he can go and play somewhere, then we would look to do that.

“He has obviously had a good career and, at the age he is, he will want to play games.

“At this point in time he knows he is not going to play here, so with a year left on his contract it is an opportunity for him to go and play elsewhere, so we will wait and see what comes back.”
