Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl has questioned how 'fair' it is for his side to face Blackburn Rovers last ahead of a huge relegation six-pointer.

Victory for John Eustace's side will mathematically confirm their safety and cement a place in the Championship for next season. Victory would lift Rovers to 52 points, eight ahead of their next opponents with only six points left to play for.

Wednesday travel to Ewood Park knowing they need to beat Rovers, whilst the host's surprise win at Elland Road has taken the pressure off, to a certain extent.

With the game televised on Sky Sports and moved to Sunday, Rovers and the Owls will be the last teams to play this weekend.

Rohl hinted that this could be an unfair disadvantage for his side and also stated that 50 points might not be enough for survival.

“This week is special because all the teams play before us, so we will know the results,” Röhl told The Sheffield Star.

"That will show a little bit for me about how we go in that game, but of course, nine points. We can take nine points. That would be 53 points, then we will see. At the moment I am not sure if 50 will be enough this season.

“Is it fair or not fair? It is not my decision and we have to take it. There are so many things that are maybe not fair but I cannot change this. I can help only my team to take the points.”
