Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Aynsley Pears - 6

Relatively helpless for all of the goals. None were his fault nor could he have done much about them.

Callum Brittain - 4

Contributed heavily to the second goal by letting the ball run under his foot. Didn't offer much going forward.

Dom Hyam - 3

A real nightmare performance. Three errors for the first three goals. Lucky to have stayed on at half-time and it didn't pay off.

Scott Wharton - 5

Wasn't at his best but certainly wasn't the biggest culprit in a poor first half. One of four changes at HT.

Harry Pickering - 4

A loose back pass in the first half went unpunished by Conway. Switched to left-centre-back for the second half.

Sondre Tronstad - 6

Probably the best of a very bad bunch on the night. But overrun in midfield with Bristol City dominant in that area.

Joe Rankin-Costello - 5

Took an early yellow card and went in for a few 50/50s that might've made Eustace nervous. Wasn't a surprise to see his taken off.

Dilan Markanday - 5

Sacrificed as part of a system switch at half-time. Wasn't in the match much but had a few half-chances.

Sam Szmodics - 5

Didn't have any influence in the final third. One decent chance but he shot wide under pressure from the defender.

Tyrhys Dolan - 4

Completely anonymous in the first half. Struggled to get in the game and it wasn't a surprise that he didn't come back out.

Sam Gallagher - 4

Cut a frustrated figure up front on his own. No real sights at goal nor enough support around him.

Substitutes:

Kyle McFadzean (Wharton, 45') - 5

On in the middle of a back three for the second half. Penalised for handball for the fourth.

Ben Chrisene (Dolan, 45') - 5

Didn't really add much in the final third after coming on at wing-back.

John Buckley (Rankin-Costello, 45' - 5)

Failed to add much more control to Rovers' midfield.

Andrew Moran (Markanday, 45') - 5

Ineffective in the final third as Rovers looked for an opening and a rout back into the game.

Jake Garret (Tronstad 80') - N/A

On as a late change at 4-0.

Unused substitutes: Wahlstedt, Koumetio, Carter, Tyjon.
