John Eustace was unable to shed any clarity on the seriousness of Ryan Hedges' hamstring injury but revealed Yasin Ayari is set for a few weeks out.

Hedges was forced off after 27 minutes on Saturday after clearly pulling up when chasing a loose ball. The winger is only just back from a groin injury and missed four months of the season with a hamstring issue previously.

Eustace was unable to offer any insight into how worrying Hedges' issue is. Rovers have missed the Welshman during his absences and will be praying it is not serious damage.

Sam Szmodics also had treatment several times but managed to complete 90 minutes. The Ewood pitch was filled with walking wounded at the full-time whistle which is testament to the players.

VERDICT: Rovers gave another indication of future they can play for

"We'll have to assess Ryan, his hamstring tightened up so he had to come on," Eustace said.

"Sam could've come off. I think everyone could see Sam was playing through the pain barrier again.

"That's the level of commitment he is showing for the team and that's what I want.

"The players are doing everything they can, that's why it's important people stay behind them, stay positive and keep believing in what we're doing.

"The effort the boys have put in since I came in has been sensational, I am so proud of the effort again today.

"We have five massive games coming up and everyone can see we're fully committed and fighting for every point."

Yasin Ayari was absent from the matchday squad on Saturday with Jake Garrett taking his place on the substitute's bench.

Eustace revealed the midfielder picked up an injury in training and has been ruled out for a few weeks.

"He has a strain of his hamstring or hip flexor which he picked up on Friday," Eustace said.

"He'll be missing for a couple of weeks."
