Great Harwood recovered from their PM&M Ramsbottom Cup exit to record back-to-back wins and stay top of the Veka Ribblesdale League senior division.

However, individual honours again went to Edenfield professional Baber Naeem.

The Pakistani star slammed 158 from 229-7 in yesterday's 39 run win over Whalley.

And he also contributed 90 on Saturday as Edenfield defeated Baxenden by 29 runs.

The weekend's best bowling came from Harwood's Syed Shahabuddin.

Their new pro claimed 6-62 to help restrict Cherry Tree to 182-8 and the visitors passed their target with only four wickets down.

Shahabuddin went one better in yesterday's round of matches. He claimed 7-21 from 17 overs as Ribblesdale Wanderers were bowled out for just 88.

And Harwood had few problems polishing off the win for the loss of only two wickets.

Three other clubs enjoyed Bank Holiday doubles: Barnoldswick, Read and Padiham.

Indeed, Padiham amassed 292-4 against Cherry Tree with paid man Kashif Siddique smashing 171 in the 60 run victory. Twenty four hours earlier the Arbories outfit defeated Earby by 53 runs.

Clitheroe's professional Paul Turner is also starting to run into form with the bat.

In the eight wicket success against Whalley, he contributed 89 while yesterday he was the mainstay of his team's 214-7 against Read with 106.

However, Read followed up Saturday's two wicket triumph against champions Blackburn Northern with another seven wicket success.

The game between Ribblesdale Wanderers and Settle included two other tons; Joe Scuderi made 135 for Wanderers while Bret Silvey's unbeaten 100 came from a losing total of 209-8.

Barnoldswick pro Clinton Peake hit 50 and took five wickets against Oswaldtwistle. And last season's wooden spoonists gained another win yesterday over Earby.
