BESART Berisha could be wearing a Clarets shirt by the end of the season ... for the reserves.

The Albanian winger, sidelined with a knee injury, is in full rehabilitation.

But a run-out for the first team could be a step too far this season.

Berisha ran a half-marathon for charity two weeks ago, fin-ishing the 13 mile course, But boss Owen Coyle says he still has a way to go before making an impact on the first team.

He said: "Bes is continuing with his progress. He's working very closely with Mitch (physio Andy Mitchell) and they've designed a programme for him.

"He's certainly im-proving, and that obviously takes a wee bit longer than other injuries, but the most important thing with that is how you get to the conclusion that once he's fully fit he'll be able to play.

"It would be folly to try to rush him on and set him back.

"Mitch has designed a course of action for him and he'll gradually get there with that.

"I think it's fair to say we would hope that Bes would be turning out in a Burnley shirt, albeit a reserve game, before the end of the season.

"And that being the case, it would set him up for next pre-season."
