BOSS Jamie Vermiglio looked at the bigger picture after Chorley equalled a National League North record with a 9-0 thrashing of Gloucester on Saturday.
A remarkable afternoon at Victory Park saw the Magpies pick up a first home win of the campaign thanks to eight different goalscorers, the visitors having been reduced to 10 men with less than 20 minutes on the watch.
Vermiglio though, was keeping his feet firmly on the ground.
"I was really pleased with the intensity that we played at and to score nine goals is a brilliant achievement," he said.
"Two wins from the last two games is the most important thing and we move on to next week for another big home game (against Chester)."
Harry Cardwell got the game's opening goal just eight minutes in, converting Andy Halls' cross after Connor Hall's flick on.
Mike Calveley doubled Chorley’s lead 10 minutes later, towering above the Tigers’ defence to get on the end of Billy Whitehouse’s cross.
Things then went from bad to worst for the visitors when Fabien Robert was dismissed for a late lunge on Whitehouse.
Chorley were handed an easy third after a mix up gifted the ball to Hall who made no mistake from the edge of the box.
The Magpies added a fourth on the stroke of half-time, Jon Ustabasi in on the act with a fine strike from just outside the box.
Lewis Baines scored the fifth five minutes into the second half, firing home from close range after a goalmouth scramble.
Hall doubled his tally on the hour, converting the rebound after Millenic Alli’s initial shot was palmed away.
Alli then laid on the seventh for Ollie Shenton as he scored from distance, Adam Blakeman's 25-yard effort making it eight 18 minutes from time.
The ninth came with just over 10 minutes to play, Alli heading home.
