BLACKBURN driver Simon Mawdsley is ready to put the pedal to the metal this Saturday at the Formula Two World of Shale final at Mildenhall, Suffolk.
The 33-year-old qualified for the event after finishing 14th in the eight-round competition.
Only the top 32 of almost 200 participants go through to this weekend's final.
And Mawdsley, who starts in the seventh row, is confident he can put on a show.
He said: "I'm really looking forward to it and I'm quietly confident I can break into the top 10.
"There's a lot of other lads who have a much bigger budget than me, so I'm just delighted to be at this stage."
