IT'S another proud week for Burnley.

On the back of a brilliant win at Colchester United (which earned me a bit of money from the bookies!), five of the lads are away on international duty.

For a small-town club, that's terrific.

It would have been six but for Besart Berisha's unfortunate injury.

But who knows, there could be even more than that in the future, because Scotland manager Alex McLeish wouldn't go far wrong in opening the door for Andy Gray to return to the international scene again.

The Clarets striker has begun the season in fantastic form. Five goals from five games - you can't ask any more than that.

Willie Irvine and myself always set a target of at least 20 goals a season, and then hope that we would get into the mid-20s.

Any less than 20 and you'd be disappointed.

I'm sure Gray, although he's kept his target under wraps, will be having similar thoughts.

From his point of view, he won't be able to wait for the next game, it's just unfortunate we've got this gap domestically and he has another week to go before he laces up his shooting boots again.

It will come around soon enough, but maybe it's possible in the near future that he could be joining Graham Alexander on international duty. And why not?

Why not, also, Steven Caldwell with them?

I'm sure McLeish is aware of the duo, but with Alexander in our fold, and the Scotland manager or his staff probably making a few trips to Turf Moor, then maybe their eyes will be re-opened to two more possible squad members.
