Sam Hart has rejoined Rochdale on loan until the end of the season.

Hart spent last year with the Spotland club who first made contact with Rovers over a potential return in June.

The left-back has been on Rovers’ bench for their last two matches but hasn’t featured for the first-team since a substitute outing in the 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe on December 30 2017.

The 21-year-old, who signed from Liverpool last summer, has made just seven appearances in all for Rovers and signed on loan for Rochdale in January.

Despite featuring just times for Dale, Keith Hill has been keen to re-sign Hart on loan throughout the summer and has now landed his man.

Rochdale are currently 19th in the table with four points from their opening five games and Hart could make his debut at Coventry on Saturday.

Hart is the first of what could be a number of departures on loan from Rovers before tomorrow's 5pm deadline.
