Tony Pulis says Middlesbrough have a decision to make over the future of Harry Chapman, revealing the 21-year-old could leave before tomorrow’s 5pm deadline.

Rovers have enquired since the permanent window closed about the possibility of bringing Chapman back to Ewood Park.

However, the chance of a return hinged on Middlesbrough adding to their squad, with Pulis still eyeing up to three more new signings.

Boro look likely to lose Martin Braithwaite to a La Liga club, with Pulis revealing the Denmark international has asked to leave the Riverside.

But he was also bullish about incomings, with Millwall midfielder George Saville and Crystal Palace winger Jason Puncheon among his targets.

Chapman played 16 times during a season-long loan spell with Rovers last term, and has made two Carabao Cup appearances for Middlesbrough this season, including as a substitute in Tuesday’s win over Rochdale after overcoming a shoulder problem.

When asked about the future of Chapman, who has a year left to run on his contract, Pulis told his pre-match press conference: “That's another situation that we'll decide in the next 24 hours.

“We think Harry is a good young player who's got a lot of potential.

“If it's right for the club and for Harry we have to make that decision. If not, he stays here.”

On other incomings and outgoings, which could impact Chapman’s future, Pulis added: “We're close to couple, and a few might go out as well.

“We'll see what it's like in the next 24 hours.

“We're looking, we've struggled, but we're looking for pace out wide that can stretch the game, but all over.

“If players become available or if one or two drop for us, then that's what we'll do in the next 24 hours.”
