As main worry with signings is ‘are they going to fit into the dressing room?’, writes Simon Smith.

By that I mean in a ‘how big is their head? how big is their mouth? how big is their desire?’ way.

To see Jack Rodwell slated by some already is disappointing. He is worth a gamble and one way or another Tony Mowbray will get his money’s worth out of him.

Harrison Reed is a player about who I have never had a thought in my life; one of a bunch of midfielders who were mentioned once on Match Of The Day and that’s it.

But our gallant leader knows his onions and with a carrot-top like that Reed is poised to stand out.

Ben Brereton, however, is someone I have given a lot of thought to lately.

Until now fans have been denied a real ‘marquee’ signing for years and that was fine by me. Adam Armstrong was enough for my expectations.

Once you rate a signing at £7m the pressure is on. Let’s not forget how Mark Hughes produced miracles by finding and securing Ryan Nelsen and Chris Samba for peanuts, enticing McCarthy, David Dunn and Stephen Warnock all for less than £7m.

In Mowbray We Trust. That is our collective feeling. TM has obviously seen something in him that could take us from puffing along nicely to fizzing up the league. And TM does seem intent on maintaining the dressing room harmony.

So far Kasey Palmer has entertained me and got one very important goal. Joe Rothwell excites me; why use your left foot when your right is so great?

If would be nice if Amari’i Bell is granted the same love too.

Many players have hit the ground running. Others are still adapting. Please support the lads!
