SETTLE skipper Tom Davidson wants his side to use the pain of the Ramsbottom Cup final defeat as inspiration for the final weeks of the season.
Davidson's side were beaten by Padiham at Read on Sunday meaning their bid for the treble this season is over.
But Settle remain in a title fight in the Ribblesdale League, sitting second behind Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, and have the T20 finals day to look forward to later this month.
And Davidson wants to finish the campaign with a flourish and try and complete a double.
"We wanted to win the treble when the season started but obviously we can't do that now," he said.
"But we have a lot of cricket to play and a lot of big games. We still feel we can win the league and the T20 and we want to use this final defeat as motivation for that.
"We are not used to losing much in the last few seasons and I think that maybe showed on Sunday in that we didn't react to the position we were in."
Settle dismissed Padiham for 190 off the last ball of the innings but lost wickets regularly with tailender Matthew Simpson top scoring at number nine with 34 while opener Will Davidson was the only other batsman to score more than 20.
Skipper Davidson added: "Fair play to Padiham, they deserved to win.
"They bowled very well and it wasn't to be for us.
"The style we bat in is an offensive one and that helped us get over 300 on Saturday but then we couldn't recreate it on Sunday.
"In the end things didn't go our way and it wasn't our day."
Settle will hope to bounce back when they entertain Baxenden this weekend while leaders Oswaldtwistle Immanuel are at Whalley.
Section B leaders Cherry Tree host Euxton while Brinscall, in second, host Feniscowles while
Padiham bid to maintain their cup final momentum with a home game against Ribblesdale Wanderers while Barnoldswick are on the road at Read and Earby take on Salesbury.
