ROVERS boss Tony Mowbray is set to travel to India next week for talks with owners Venky’s to finalise plans for next season.

The Ewood chief, along with CEO Steve Waggott and Finance Director Mike Cheston, will meet the owners on the back of promotion from League One.

Mowbray is hoping for further investment as he starts to prepare for life back in the Championship.

Following the final day League One victory over Oxford United, the Ewood chief referenced fears that Rovers could be hit with an embargo in the future for breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) but any suggestion the club is set to be sanctioned in the immediate future are wide of the mark.

The regulations allow sides to lose £39m over three seasons.

Rovers posted a loss of £3.8m in their latest club accounts which ran to June 2017.

Earlier this year Cheston said Venky’s remain committed to supporting the club and said there would continue to be investment moving forward.

Rovers operated under a transfer embargo in the Championship in 2015 when they were one of three clubs, along with Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, who were found to have breached FFP rules.
