ROVERS owners Venky's have released a statement following the club's final game of the season.

In it they said the club was now more united 'on and off the pitch than it has ever been'.

They also praised Rovers' phenomenal support - particularly away from home.

Perhaps hinting at plans for the club's Championship campaign, they said they hoped next season would be 'exciting and successful'.

They said Rovers boss Tony Mowbray would get their 'full support' next season.

HERE IS THE VENKY'S STATEMENT IN FULL

We would like to take this opportunity to put on record our immense pride at the successes of the club this season, both on and off the pitch.

Firstly, many congratulations to Tony Mowbray, the first team squad and staff on achieving the objective of promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt.

Tony's hard work, integrity and passion for the game has created a strong bond with the supporters, which is great to see, and he will get our full support as we prepare for the challenges of Championship football.

He has assembled a talented squad, who have an incredible togetherness, a never-say-die attitude and who give their all for the shirt, and we believe these qualities will stand us in good stead going forward.

The players deserve great credit for their focused and dedicated approach throughout what has been a long and testing season.

Their efforts on the pitch have been matched by the phenomenal support - particularly away from home - from the stands.

We can assure the fans that their loyal and fantastic support is greatly appreciated and has not gone unnoticed, so we thank you for it.

The club now is more united on and off the pitch than it has ever been and it is vitally important that we continue this momentum and unity into the Championship.

We would also like to congratulate Damien Johnson, David Dunn and the Under-23 team on their title-winning season, as well as Gemma Donnelly and the Rovers Ladies team on their continued success in the league and cup competitions.

The club was also named Family Club of the Year at the EFL Awards, as well as North West Community Club of the Year, and we would like to give a special mention to those working behind the scenes for their tireless efforts in ensuring that we remain a celebrated club in these areas.

Finally, we hope to see you all back at Ewood Park in August for the start of what we hope will be an exciting and successful season.
