Tony Mowbray admits only two of the players who missed the defeat at Charlton Athletic have a chance of featuring in the final match against Oxford United next weekend.

Mowbray made six changes to his side who were beaten 1-0 at Charlton Athletic thanks to Jason Pearce's first-half goal.

David Raya, Bradley Dack, Craig Conway, Elliott Bennett and Derrick Williams were all left out of the matchday squad, with Mowbray admitting only the latter two have a chance of playing in the final game.

Danny Graham came off the bench for the final half hour, but Dack will undergo a hamstring scan on Monday, while Conway has suffered a broken metatarsal.

On the alterations, Mowbray said: "Every change was enforced.

"I said the other day that the team had been soldiering on really.

"I hope that Bennett and Williams will be ready for next week but it was just too much of a risk because they are injured and playing might just have compounded it.

"They probably won't do any training this week but hopefully we will get them out on the pitch next weekend.

"Raya I don't think will play, Dack has no chance of playing, Conway has broken a metatarsal so I don't think they will.

"We will try with Bennett and Williams but that decision will be made in the week after we see how this week's training has gone."

Rovers trailed 1-0 at the break but improved in the second half on went close on several occasions, none more than Dominic Samuel's header which hit the underside of the crossbar.

On the performance, Mowbray added: "I thought we needed to be a bit braver with the ball in the first-half.

"The second half we showed the spirit we have all season, thought there were some bizarre decisions from the officials.

"Charlton worked really hard and I can't sit here and criticise the team. We had some good opportunities in the second half but didn't take them.

"We had half a team unavailable, it is what it is, but I thought the spirit of the team was still there.

"I'm disappointed for the supporters who travelled, it would have been nice to score a goal at that end in the second half but it wasn't to be."

Mowbray felt the hosts could have been reduced to 10 men in the first-half when Samuel went down under the challenge of Eric Konsa when clean through on goal.

Nothing was given, and Mowbray added: "It wasn't in the box, it was just outside, but it was a stonewall sending off.

"He (Samuel) is running through and the ball just takes him out, there was deviation of the ball, no contact with the ball, it's a shame you can't sit and talk to referees after games

"How he didn't give anything I would never know.

"I've watched it, there was no contact with the ball, he was brought down from behind, but never mind."
