‘NOW for the title!’ - that is the aim of Rovers star Bradley Dack.

With promotion secured and the gap to leaders Wigan cut to just one point ahead of Rovers’ trip to Charlton tomorrow, Dack is keen to chalk up a club record 28th victory of the season and put the pressure firmly on the Latics.

It will be a tough ask against a Charlton side with promotion aspirations of their own via the play-offs, and who have won five of their last eight matches.

But Dack is targeting top spot and the League One title.

“Now we go for the title,” he said. “We’re out to win it. They (Wigan) drew on Tuesday (at Bristol Rovers) so we have closed the gap to one point.

“We’re going for the title now and I would absolutely love to beat them.”

Dack was named League One player of the year earlier this month after his 18 goals spearheaded Rovers’ promotion push.

Further awards are set to follow for the former Gillingham man when Rovers reveal their end of season prizes.

But, putting the personal accolades aside, Dack said sharing promotion with his teammates was extra special.

The 24-year-old added: “I have got the goals and the assists but at the end of the day that doesn’t mean anything to me compared to getting promoted and doing it with friends.

“The team spirit is second to none.

“It’s unbelievable – everyone gets on and there’s not a bad egg in that changing room. Everyone goes out there and fights for one another and that’s been a massive reason why we’ve done what we have this season.”

Key to Rovers’ promotion has been their ability to not know when they are beaten.

They have lost just once since mid-October and no team in the Football League has had fewer than the five defeats they have suffered so far this season.

Rovers will aim to make it 15 games unbeaten at the Valley, four days after securing promotion at Doncaster.

On Rovers’ run Dack added: “I think that shows the character and the resilience of the boys that we’ve got. To do that is some feat.

“Only Liverpool and Manchester City have lost fewer games than us and that’s an unbelievable achievement.”

Ewood boss Tony Mowbray is set to name the same matchday 18 for the fifth game running as Rovers play their seventh game of a packed April at the Valley.

Right back Ryan Nyambe (hamstring) is closing in on a return after seven weeks out but isn’t expected to make the trip south.

Mowbray will consider the possibility of a recall for Huddersfield loanee Jack Payne who has been used off the bench in six of Rovers’ last seven outings.
