PADIHAM kicked off their season in the North West Counties VODKAT League with a well-deserved 2-0 win over Cheadle Town.
Steve Wilkes' side scored one in each half to make sure of all three points.
Striker Paul Fildes got the home side off the mark after 20 minutes when he converted from the penalty spot.
And Fildes was on hand in the dying minutes of the match to make sure of the victory with a well taken second goal.
Overall Padiham deserved the three points having pushed the visitors all the way throughout the entire 90 minutes
