DANNY Graham admits his opening goal set Rovers on their way to a ‘massive three points’ against Bury at Ewood Park.

Graham put Rovers ahead five minutes in to the second half with a diving header from a terrific Bradley Dack cross.

Rovers had laboured up to that point, but improved thereafter with Adam Armstrong scoring his fourth in three games since joining on loan from Newcastle United.

Tony Mowbray had switched to a back three for the visitors of the Shakers but Rovers found it hard going in the first half.

And Graham said: “It was massive to get the three points, no matter how we played. We played a lot better in the second half, it’s another win and a clean sheet and we look ahead to Saturday now.

“We opted for three at the back and playing with two number 10s, but it was hard to get Bradley and Arma on the ball.

“We switched to our usual system, looked more comfortable with it, got the opening goal and it set us off for a massive three points.

“It was a great stand up ball from Bradley and once it went in it certainly eased the nerves, the fans got right behind us and we can send them home happy with the win.”

Rovers are right in the promotion mix with 13 games to play and travel to Walsall this weekend following back-to-back victories.

And the striker, who now has 13 goals for the season, added: “It’s taken a marvellous run to get here. We have 13 games to come, starting at Walsall and we go there full of confidence.

“I want to score as many goals as I can to get this club up to the Championship.

“We’re sharing the goals around now which is pleasing. I’m on 13, a couple are on 12, Marcus (Antonsson) and Dom (Samuel) are on eight.

“That 150 (career goals) milestone will come soon enough, it’ll be a great landmark.”

Graham is in confident mood, netting nine times in his last 10 Ewood Park outings.

And he’s enjoying the partnership with Dack and Armstrong, adding: “I knew what was coming. I see what Brad does in training, clipping balls to the back stick.

“His performance deserved a goal, but it means I overtake him in the goalscoring charts.

“He’s been a delight to play with and been massive for us this season. We’re getting goals from all over now. Arma’s got four now, he’s been on fire but it’s his all round play that’s impressive.

“The two at Portsmouth were massive. His first goal was an unbelievable finish and his second a poacher’s effort at a real tough place to go.”
