HARRY Chapman is pushing to be back in action by mid-March as the Middlesbrough winger looks to play his part in Rovers’ bid for promotion.

The 20-year-old has been out since October with a hamstring tear for which he has since undergone surgery.

The winger made a huge impact in his 16 outings for the club and was back at Ewood Park as a supporter on Tuesday to watch his team-mates move back in to the automatic promotion spots.

Chapman is undergoing his rehabilitation in the north east with his parent club but is itching to get back playing, with his loan at Rovers set to run until the summer.

“We’re pushing for the end of February but it’s more likely going to be mid-March,” he said of a potential comeback date.

“I feel really strong now, I’m in better shape than I when I left so that’s a positive.”

Chapman is out of contract at the Riverside in the summer, but said of his future: “I’m not concentrating much on that.

“My focus is getting fit and everything else will fall in to place.”

Chapman became big hit with the Rovers fans whose support he welcomed in helping him through his time out injured.

And he has backed Rovers for an immediate promotion back to the Championship feeling the spirit within the dressing room will carry them over the line.

He added: “I love the club, I love the fans, the lads are second to none, they are like a family.

“We’re all brothers in there, we have a great bond as you can see on the pitch.

“They are all like brothers to me, we’re all really tight and it’s like a family in there, the gaffer is everyone’s dad and everyone is happy around the place.

“I can’t thank them enough.

“Even if I don’t come back and we get promotion it will still be worthwhile.

“It’s a great run we’re on, 18 unbeaten. We want to keep pushing for promotion.”
