TONY Mowbray says there have been no offers for attacker Bradley Dack and insists Rovers won’t be entertaining bids for any of their star men this month.

Dack has scored 11 times this season and has been a key part of Mowbray’s side who have climbed to second in the League One table.

Reports in the national press over the weekend suggested that Rovers had rejected a £4million bid for the 24-year-old who joined in June from Gillingham for £750,000.

However, as revealed in the Lancashire Telegraph, Rovers haven’t received any bids for Dack.

“Categorically I can say to our supporters, no,” Mowbray said of any interest or offers for Dack.

“There has been no contact, no offers, no interest.

“The disappointing thing for me is that the potential is there to unsettle the player.

“I will be open and honest with all of my players and tell them if there’s something there and this is our decision on it.

“We’ve not had to talk to Bradley because there’s no interest.”
Dack, who signed a four year deal at Rovers in June, has shaken off some early season injury troubles to become a key fixture in the side.

He has started each of the 16 league games in which Rovers have gone unbeaten, and has tasted defeat in just one of his 21 league starts.

Mowbray is looking to build for a brighter future at Ewood, and having resisted offers for some of his senior players last summer, wants to ensure the same again in the closing days of this window.

He added: “We wouldn’t be welcoming any offers. My relationship with the owners is quite strong at the moment, they know my thoughts that we’re trying to develop a team that is going to put some pride back in the football club, win games and bring the supporters back and they feel proud to support the team.

“You don’t do that with any longevity when you sell your better players.

“The plan would be to build a team that everyone can be proud of and not sell anyone.”

Mowbray added: “We’re in League One, it’s not as if we’re ripping the Championship up, at the top end of that league trying to get to the Premier League.

“These players at the moment are playing at a level that we have to get past and get judged on the next level up and I’m pretty sure that Bradley for instance, he’s been at this club for a few months, a young guy who’s plying his trade, working really hard and ultimately your talent will take you to the level where it settles.

“He’s on a journey still, a young guy, and we’ll see where it takes us.

“At the minute he’s taking us on a journey with him, we’re taking him on a journey upwards in his career.”
