IF I was Francis Jeffers then I would find another club.

Obviously Mark Hughes has told him that he's free to leave and the club have already accepted an offer for him.

He's about fifth down the list in the striking pecking order and he needs to understand that it's just not going to happen for him at Ewood Park.

I remember when Kenny Dalglish came to Rovers and I realised I wasn't going to be playing first team football.

All I wanted to do was play football and I knew that I had to be playing in the first team, so it was time for me to go and find that at another club.

If Franny is happy to be playing in the reserves then I suppose that's up to him, but I can't imagine that to be the case.

At this stage in his career it's vital that he's playing in the first team, at whatever club or division.

He enjoyed a spell at Ipswich at the end of last season and was banging in the goals for them and seemed to be enjoying himself. Maybe that could be his level at the Championship. But then he couldn't agree personal terms with them, which I found very strange, and he returned back to Rovers.

He should be looking at his options right now, especially with the transfer window closing at the end of next month.

And with Mark keen to add another quality striker to the pool in the next couple of days then it's only going to get worse for him.

He's going to be behind Benni McCarthy, Jason Roberts, Maceo Rigters, Matty Derbyshire and Paul Gallagher.

The lad's had a lot of moves in his career since he burst onto the scene with Everton. He's gone to Arsenal, Charlton, back to Everton and even up to Scotland with Rangers.

But I think he should definitely be looking for another move and, for his sake, the sooner the better.
